Tang Jie-Ee Wei, Pearly-Thinaah included in Sudirman Cup squad

Pearly Tan-M.Thinaah and Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei who have made headlines in recent days for different reasons have been included in the Sudirman Cup provisional squad.

Malaysia are housed in Group C of the team event which begins from April 27-May 4 in Xiamen, China that consists of Japan, France and Australia.

The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) have named their strongest possible line-up for Sudirman Cup, including Chen-Toh and Tan-Thinaah.

But Chen-Toh will not play together after recently splitting, rather be used with different partners.

Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai will assume the responsibility as the preferred pair in the mixed doubles.

Tan-Thinaah, whose careers with BAM are uncertain after rumours of them leaving the national body to turn professional emerged, will shoulder the responsibility in the women’s doubles.

The men’s doubles have the strongest options with Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik, Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin and Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun who are all in the top 10, included.

In the men’s singles, Leong Jun Hao will play in the absence of the injured Lee Zii Jia, with Justin Hoh as the second choice.

The women’s singles is made up of Goh Jin Wei and K. Letshaana.
