Malaysia confirmed their quarter-final berth at the ongoing Sudirman Cup after a 5-0 demolition of minnows Egypt in their Group D match in less than three hours.

The national team were made up of a completely different line-up who edged past England 3-2 on Monday, as the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) opted to field a team of national back-up shuttlers.

The youngsters completed their mission in style and were barely out of their first gear in a victory that could be described as barely a leisure training session.

Mixed doubles pair Chen Tang Jie-Peck Yen Wei put the first points on the board with a 21-6, 21-7 victory over Ahmad Salah-Nour Ahmed Youssri in 20 minutes.
