StadiumAstro looks at six shuttlers who should potentially deliver the points for Malaysia at the upcoming Sudirman Cup in Xiamen, China from April 27-May.

Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik

The recent Badminton Asia Championships gold medalists will boast immense self-belief in this team-event, and will be counted upon to deliver a sure point in the group stage.

Given their recent success, Chia-Soh should be playing in at least two group matches, potentially against France and Japan.

Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin

National doubles coaching director Rexy Mainaky is also expected to give this world number two pair game time.

Goh-Izzuddin should play at least one group game, and possibly also feature in the knockround rounds depending on their opponent.

This combination are in good form this year with a Super 750 title from New Delhi to their name already, and they should come up with the goods if given the opportunity.

Pearly Tan-M.Thinaah

With a fully fit Tan back in action, this pair should be back at their best and will be out to deliver a crucial point in the women’s doubles.

Tan-Thinaah is certain to be fielded against France and Japan, with Go Pei Kee-Carmen Ting expected a chance against Australia.

The world number five should not face any issues to beat any French pair they come up against, but will need to be at their best to overcome Japan’s Chiharu Shida-Nami Matsuyama.

Based on their last meeting at the All-England, the Malaysians gave a spirited display to bow out in two close games despite Tan playing with an injury.
