Datuk Lee Chong Wei mengelak aib tersingkir awal dalam Siri Super Akhir di Dubai apabila meraih kemenangan pertama dalam aksi kumpulan dengan menundukkan bintang Hong Kong, Angus Ng Ka Long, 21-15, 22-20, hari ini.
Chong Wei berkata permainannya itu jelas lebih baik berbanding aksi ketika tewas kepada wakil Korea Selatan, Son Wan Ho, semalam.
"Saya fikir hari ini saya bermain lebih bagus. Selepas dua bulan berehat akibat kecederaan, mungkin saya sedikit hilang fokus. Bagaimanapun, tiada masalah hari ini, ia lebih baik daripada perlawanan semalam," katanya.
Chong Wei, yang mengalami kecederaan pangkal paha ketika beraksi dalam Terbuka Denmark, Oktober lalu, turut mengakui perlu bermain lebih agresif selepas ini.
"Saya akan memberikan persembahan yang lebih baik selepas ini. Mungkin saya perlu meningkatkan lagi kelajuan ketika bermain," tambahnya.
Chong Wei akan bertemu Viktor Axelsen dalam perlawanan ketiga peringkat kumpulan, esok.
