Men's doubles pair Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik led the Malaysian march into the Singapore Open quarter-finals after successfully navigating past their Indonesian opponents on Thursday.

Chia-Soh beat Thailand Open runners-up Shohibul Fikri-Bagas Maulana 21-18, 21-17 to meet another Indonesian pair Leo Rolly Carnando-Daniel Marthin in the last eight.

They recently met their upcoming opponents at the Malaysia Masters, where they were beaten in straight games.

Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi joined them in the last eight after getting the better off SEA Games champions Pramudya Kusumawardana-Yeremia Erich 21-17, 21-18.

Malaysia's mixed doubles department also provided joy through fast rising pair Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei, who were too good for Dutch duo Robin Tabeling-Selena Piek and won 21-17, 21-17.

They next face Hong Kong's Reginald Lee-Ng Ysz Yau, who overcame Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Jemie Lai.

Malaysia's hopes at this Super 750 event now depend solely on this three pairs as others bowed out in the second round.

In the men's singles, Ng Tze Yong did well to win a tense second game against the in-form Kunlavut Vitidsarn, but was no match for the Thai in the decider.

Malaysia Masters runners-up Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun also gave a good account of themselves against China's Liang Wei Leng-Wang Chang, but lost 18-21, 21-18, 13-21.
