"She said YES" - Yew Sin proposes to Japanese fiance Aya Ohori
Ong Yew Sin ended speculation of his personal life after the Malaysian men’s doubles shuttler proposed to his Japanese wife-to-be Aya Ohori.
The shuttler announced the good news on his social media page which got fans excited, having talked about the status of the pair for sometime.
“She said YES. We couldn’t be more happier to share this with the world. Different nationality, different culture, different living style. We learn to adapt and accept each other’s living style and understand each other’s culture throughout the years,” said Ong via his Instagram page.

The shuttler also later clarified that Ohori is not pregnant after fans started speculating on the picture.
While this news may be a surprise for some fans, the ones who follow Ong and Ohori have always suspected that the pair were dating.
The couple were never public about their relationship, but eagle eyed fans started talking about the pair after they were pictured together back in 2021.
Ohori has also previously professed her love for Malaysia before.
“I really enjoy Malaysia, it’s a nice country and the people are kind. I may come back and stay when my career ends. Who knows, maybe I’ll even marry a Malaysian,” said Ohori back in 2016 when she played in the Purple League tournament.
Ong is currently ranked 33rd in the world with Teo Ee Yi, while Ohori was ranked as high as seventh in December last year.
She had a career best season last year after winning the Thailand Masters and Australian Open.
