Malaysia will face Singapore in the badminton men's team semi-finals at the 2019 SEA Games after brushing aside the Philippines on Sunday.
Lee Zii Jia had no problems dispatching Ros Leonard Pedrosa 21-12, 21-8, before Aaron Chia and Soh Wooi Yik followed suits with a 21-17, 21-14 win over Peter Gabriel Magnaye and Alvin Morada.
Soong Joo Ven sealed the victory for Malaysia by beating Lanz Raif Zafra 21-15, 21-17.
As for Singapore, they also recorded a convincing 3-0 win as Loh Kean Yew and Co. beat Myanmar in their quarter-final clash.
The winners of the Malaysia-Singapore tie on Monday go on to face either Thailand or Indonesia, who have won all but eight of the last 24 men's team events.
Malaysia are aiming to win a gold medal in the men's category for the first time since 2005.
Meanwhile, the Malaysia women's team, who received a walkover from Cambodia, face world number five Ratchanok Intanon and defending champions Thailand in the semi-finals.
