Malaysia women’s doubles shuttler Pearly Tan is done putting unnecessary pressure on herself to deliver results, opting to be more focused on working on key strengths with partner M. Thinaah.
Tan-Thinaah will embark on a three-week European quest, where they are slated for participation at the German Open (March 2-7), All England (March 14-19) and Swiss Open (March 21-26).

The world number six pair yet to hit the heights of their French Open victory last November, but made a good start to the year with two semi-finals appearances at the India Open and Indonesia Masters.
Ahead of the German Open where they are seeded third, Tan wanted the pair to enjoy themselves and be aggressive on court.
“After the French Open victory, there were external things that disrupted our gameplay. People were expecting us to win, and as a result we put those expectations on ourselves to win. That was not right because everyone is out to win.
“We do not have to put unnecessary pressure on ourselves. The most important thing now is to find our gameplay, enjoy the game and be more aggressive. If we give our best the results will show,” Tan told Stadium Astro.
Tan-Thinaah take on Irish pair Kate Frost-Moya Ryan in the first round of the German Open.
At the All England, they have a tougher opening assignment against Mayu Matsumoto-Wakana Nagahara.
Vivian Hoo-Lim Chiew Sien are the other Malaysian women’s doubles pair competing in both events.
Hoo-Lim face second seeds Jeong Na-eun-Kim Hye-Jeong in the first round of the German Open.
