The Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) will not make any hasty decision to allow national shuttlers to return to training following the Conditional Movement Control Order (CMCO) announced on Friday.
In the latest measure unveiled by Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin, non-contact sports such as badminton, golf and cycling will be allowed but all indoor sports and ones played in stadiums are still prohibited.

This is a poser to the national body as their shuttlers train mostly indoors at the national training centre in Bukit Kiara.
BAM are expected to await further directives from the Sports Ministry and National Sports Council before deciding if their shuttlers, most of whom are back at their hometowns, should return.
Countries like China and Indonesia have already resumed light training ahead of the season resumption which is slated for September.
Meanwhile, the 2021 World Championships in Huelva, Spain has been rescheduled to 29 November – 5 December to avoid clashing with the new dates of the Tokyo Olympics (23 July-8 August).
The Badminton World Federation president Poul-Erik Hoyer confirmed the change.
“BWF and Spanish Badminton Federation are confident the rescheduled championships will be a success. The move allows both the Olympic badminton competition and World Championships to be conducted with equal fairness for everyone,” he said.
