Newly crowned Indonesia Masters champs aim to help Malaysia in team event

Newly crowned Indonesia Masters champions Tee Kai Wun-Man Wei Chong are already targeting to help Malaysia at the upcoming Badminton Asia Mixed Team Championships (BAMTC) next month.
Man-Tee are the hottest topic of Malaysian badminton after the pair stunned Indonesians Rian Ardianto-Fajar Alfian 21-11, 21-19 on their home turf to clinch the men’s doubles title on Sunday.
The Super 500 silverware is also their biggest achievement to date, having only triumphed in several Super 300 events prior.

While the Chinese New Year celebrations are just around the corner, Man-Tee are looking to get back on court to ride on this winning momentum.
“We will just celebrate with our families. We have the BAMTC tournament coming after that, so we will start preparing for that. In the final, I think playing without pressure helped us.
“We had less to lose compared to them. We kept pressuring them throughout the contest and it paid off,” they said.
One of the pair’s biggest goals this year would be to break into the top 10, a number they are not far off currently at 13th.
Man-Tee have made a bright start to the year.
Besides securing this title, they also reached the semi-finals of the Malaysia Open.
Man-Tee’s success also spelt another trophy-laden week for the Malaysian contingent, who saw Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin clinch the India Open men's doubles title last week.
It made up for the shortcomings at the Malaysia Open, where there were no local representatives in the final.
