The Malaysian contingent continued to make their European outing a title hunting ground after winning two titles at the Ukraine International through Arif Junaidi-Muhammad Haikal and Yap Roy King-Valeree Siow.

Victory meant that both the young men’s doubles and mixed doubles pairs won their third titles in the lower ranked international events this year.

Junaidi-Haikal were first to get onto the podium after they bagged the men’s doubles title, courtesy of a hard earned 21-15 19-21 21-15 victory over Indian pair Ishaan Bhatnagar-Sai Pratheek K in 59 minutes.

It was the latest win for the pair ranked 200 in the world, having also won the Hellas International in Greece last week.

They also won the Austrian Open in June.

Yap-Siow then added the second title for Malaysia in the mixed doubles with a straightforward 21-17, 21-14 win over Germans Malik Bourakkadi-Annabelle Jaeger in 32 minutes.

Yap-Siow were on a roll in this European outing, having also won the Latvia International a fortnight ago, and followed that up with the Hellas International success.

This latest achievement came on the back of titles at the Polish Open, Slovenia International, Austrian Open and Spanish International this year.
