Ng Tze Yong clinched the Malaysian Games (SUKMA) men's singles title, to gift overall champions Johor the icing on the cake at the Axiata Arena on Saturday.

Ng was hot pick to win the event as the top seed and the highest ranked shuttler, but he did not have it easy against a battling Leong Jun Hao in the final.

Both shuttlers traded blows for 80 minutes before Leong ran out of steam towards the end, leaving Ng to secure the 18-21, 21-19, 21-12 victory.

"I'm so proud to win it for Johor. He slowed down in the third game while I maintained my pace. That proved to be the difference.

"This tournament was a good avenue for me to handle pressure," said Ng.

Siti Nurshuhaini bagged the women's singles title in all Selangor affair against K. Letshaana after a 21-19, 21-9 victory in 33 minutes.

"It's been a while since I won a big event like this. I've not been feeling throughout this week, I really didn't expect to win this," said Siti, who was overcome with emotion upon clinching the final point.

Tee Kai Wun and Toh Ee Wei made Malacca immensely proud by capturing two gold medals each to be the biggest winners of the day.

Tee-Toh first won the mixed doubles title with after the duo beat Muhammad Haikal-Chan Wen Tse 21-15, 21-13.

Toh later partnered Yap Ling to beat Cheng Su Hui-Cheng Su Yin 21-12, 25-27, 21-16 for the women's doubles title.

Chinese Taipei open winner Tee capped a glorious day for his state later, pairing up with Tan Kok Xian in the men's doubles final to beat Johor's Lwi Sheng Hao-Yap Roy King 21-16, 21-17.
