Kunlavut Vitidsarn finally got to meet idol Lee Chong Wei as they attended the Legends’ Vision World Tour in Canada, which was also graced by other icons such as Peter Gade and Lee Yong-Dae.

The Thai men’singles shuttler had long idolised Lee for his speed and incredible attack and great defence.

“No matter where you placed the shuttle, he could retrieve it,” he once praised the Malaysian.

Vitidsarn was hoping to meet Chong Wei at the Malaysia Open earlier this year, but instead had to wait another six months to finally get his opportunity in Calgary, Canada.

Kunlavut later posted a picture of them together after the event.

The Legends’ Vision Yonex is an initiative where badminton icons like Chong Wei, Yong-Dae and Gade travel to different parts of the world to promote the sport.

Lin Dan and Taufik Hidayat, the other prominent Yonex ambassadors, were absent from this event.

In Galgary, these ex-shuttlers participated in a coaching clinic before their exhibition matches.

Chong Wei even missed his second son’s birthday as he had to be in Calgary.
