Pearly Tan-M.Thinaah and Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin ensured an interesting Saturday for Malaysia at the on-going Kumamoto Masters with both pairs marching into the semi-finals.

For Tan-Thinaah, it will be their 11th semi-final appearance of the year, showcasing how far this pair has progressed in 2025.

The world number two were again dominant to dispatch Chinese Taipei’s Hsu Yin-hui-Lin Jhih-yun 21-13, 21-17 in just 30-minutes.

With such commanding form in their last two matches, the tournament’s top seeds will be confident of another victory on Saturday.

The Malaysians are set to face Japanese pair Yuki Fukuhisma-Mayu Matsumoto, who are much more formidable opponents sitting sixth in the world.

In the earlier session, Goh-Izzuddin were the first Malaysians to move into the last four after winning in contrasting fashion.

The world number four pair battled to three games before overcoming Chinese Taipei pair Lee Jhei-huei-Yang Po-hsuan 21-16, 10-21, 21-16.

This is Goh-Izzuddin’s best outing in four months since they reached the Japan Open final last July.

The second seeds will be aiming to secure a spot in this Super 500  final too, but first they must overcome Japan's Hiroki Midorikawa-Kyohei Yamashita.

Both these pairs are the only representatives left after men’s doubles pairs Yap Roy Kin-Junaidi Arif and Choong Hon Jian-Haikal Nazri lost along with Wong Ling Ching in the women’s singles.
