Skuad badminton negara, khususnya bahagian beregu campuran, perlu merangka strategi berbeza susulan penarikan diri gandingan utama, Chan Peng Soon dan Goh Liu Ying.
Malaysia berdepan tamparan apabila Peng Soon dan Liu Ying membuat keputusan untuk mengundurkan diri bermula 1 Januari 2019 dan gandingan itu tidak menjalani latihan hari ini kerana baru pulang daripada siri akhir Jelajah Dunia BWF di China tempoh hari.
Keputusan pasangan itu untuk keluar daripada Persatuan Badminton Malaysia (BAM) sudah pasti memberi cabaran baru buat gandingan lain yang berada dalam skuad kebangsaan.
Bagi pemain beregu campuran negara, Tan Kian Meng, walaupun bersedih, keputusan pemain senior itu perlu dihormati.
"Saya turut sedih apabila Peng Soon dan Liu Ying keluar daripada BAM. Mereka adalah senior yang bagus.
"Jika mereka ada, kami akan menjalani latihan dengan lebih semangat. Namun, itu adalah keputusan mereka dan saya tetap memberi sokongan," kata Kian Meng.
