Indonesia Open: Three pairs reach semis

Malaysia will have three representatives in three events at the Indonesia Open semi-finals on Saturday, with Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei, Pearly Tan-Thinaah Muralitharan and Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun all progressing.

In the mixed doubles, Chen-Toh lived up to their second seeded billing, showing plenty of grit to come from a game down and beat Danish pair Jesper Toft-Amalie Magelund 17-21, 21-16, 21-14.

The Malaysians will now face Thailand's Dechapol Puavaranukroh-Supissara Paewsampran who beat Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai in straight games.

Tan-Thinaah, meanwhile, booked their fifth semi-finals of the year with an emphatic 21-6, 21-18 victory over Japan's Rin Iwanaga-Kie Nakanishi.

The fourth seeds will next take on Chinese pair Li Yi Jing-Luo Xu Min.

Malaysia Masters champions Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun were also clinical to dispose Indian pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty 21-19, 21-16.

World number one Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin couldn't make it four entries after a 19-21, 21-9, 19-21 defeat against home pair Sabar Karyaman-Moh Reza Pahlevi.
