World number four mixed doubles pair Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei reached the Indonesia Open quarter-finals on Thursday, marking a big improvement from their outing last year.
Chen-Toh crashed in the first round last year, and are aiming to erase that record in this Super 1000 event in Jakarta.

This time, the Malaysians cruised into the last eight after overcoming Danish pair Mads Vestergaard-Christine Busch 21-9, 21-12 in just 31-minutes.
Their chemistry and communication with each other also looked on point, a positive signal the pair could go far in this competition.
The second seeds will face another pair from Denmark – Jesper Toft-Amalie Magelund for a place in the semi-finals.
Another Malaysian pair Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai also made the last eight after they tamed home pair Amri Syahnawi-Nita Violina 21-12, 21-17.
Goh-Lai will face Thai pair Dechapol Puavaruknoh-Supissara Paewsampran next.
The Malaysians lost to the same pair at the Singapore Open quarter-finals last week, which prompted Lai to fire back at some of the criticisms aimed at her.
Some fans were claiming that Lai did not do enough in the defeat, which prompted the frustrated shuttler to invite anyone to partner Goh, who is also her husband.
