Indonesia Masters: Zii Jia retires through food poisoning

Lee Zii Jia was forced to retire from his Indonesia Masters quarter-finals clash after suffering from food poisoning, with two other doubles pairs following him out to end Malaysia's campaign in Jakarta.
"Unfortunately Zii Jia had to retire mid match as his body conditions deteriorated after a severe case of food poisoning for the past couple of days.
"Zii Jia really tried his best to perform, but was unable to complete the match against Brian Yang," read a statement from Team LZJ.

Lee had lost the first game 14-21 against the Canadian, and shortly after conceded the match after talking to the tournament official.
The world number 10 did not look himself on court in the first game, looking lethargic as he struggled to cope with the pace of the match.
Malaysia's interest in this tournament effectively ended after Pearly Tan-M.Thinaah and Tan Kian Meng-Lai Pei Jing also lost.
National women's doubles pair Tan-Thinaah looked out of sorts against Chinese pair Liu Sheng Shu-Tan Ning and fell to a limp 16-21, 9-21 defeat.
The Malaysians had lost to the same pair at the Malaysia Open first round just three weeks ago, and this latest defeat will ring alarm bells with the Paris Olympics only six months away.
Tan-Thinaah were slated to even deliver a medal at the Olympics, but on the back of their performances this year, that target seems a far shot.
Mixed doubles pair Kian Meng-Pei Jing did better in their match, but couldn't match the class of top seeds Zheng Si Wei-Huang Ya Qiong who won 18-21, 21-18, 21-13.
