India Open: Tang Jie-Yen Wei finish as mixed doubles runners-up

Chen Tang Jie-Peck Yen Wei lost 15-21,18-21 to Singapore's newlyweds couple Hee Yong Kai Terry-Tan Wei Han in the India Open mixed doubles final on Sunday.
Hee-Tan, who got married in October last year, were simply the far superior pair in their communication, anticipation, defence and offence.
The first game saw the Malaysians trail all the way to surrender meekly 15-21.
The second game also saw the Singaporeans, who won the Czech Open title last year and coached by former Malaysian shuttler Yap Kim Hock, lead comfortably to seal their biggest career victory in 40 minutes.

Overall, the India Open can be dubbed an underwhelming outing after the national contingent failed to return with a title despite sending a relatively large contingent who were highly seeded.
The women's doubles final saw Thai pair Benyapa Aimsaard-Nuntakaarn Aimsaard beat Russians Anastassia Akchurina-Olga Morozova 21-13, 21-5.
Busanan Ongbamrungphan edged an all-Thai women's singles affair after she overcame Supanida Katethong 22-20, 19-21, 21-13.
Chirag Shetty-Satwiksairaj Rankireddy dished out an upset in the men's doubles final as they upset top seeds Mohammad Ahsan-Hendra Setiawan 21-16, 26-24.

Shetty-Rankireddy showed immense character in their 43-minute victory, especially at the end of the second game where they saved five game points before converting the win.
Lakshya Sen gave India a sweet ending to the tournament after the third seed men's singles stunned reigning world champion Loh Kean Yew 24-22, 21-17 in 54 minutes.
