Morten Frost has resigned as technical director of the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM), the national body confirmed.
"We received a resignation letter from Morten Frost as technical director on September 11," said BAM president Norza Zakaria after today's coaching and training (C&T) committee meeting at the Academy Badminton Malaysia in Bukit Kiara.
"Frost's resignation was accepted after we had a discussion with Sports and Youth minister Khairy Jamaluddin.
"We wish him all the best in his future endeavours and thank him for his contributions throughout his time here."
According to the BAM, his departure was due to personal reasons, which were not revealed.
The Dane had come under heavy pressure following Malaysia's subpar performances at the 2017 BWF World Championships and 2017 SEA Games.
Frost returned to the BAM in 2014 in his latest capacity, having previously served as head coach of the Malaysia national team between 1997 and 1999.
Norza also added that the BAM will not be looking for Frost's replacement for now and will instead entrust the existing coaches and staff to make the necessary improvement.
"We will try to change the work culture here. I have told the coaches that victories are our priority, while defeats cannot be easily dismissed," he said.
