French Open: Tze Yong scores opening win as Aaron-Wooi Yik concedes walkover
Ng Tze Yong and mixed doubles pairs Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei and Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai earned important wins in the French Open opening round, while Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik conceded a walkover.
The Malaysian contingent came into this second Super 750 event of the European leg in high spirits, on the back of Chia-Soh's Denmark Open title triumph and Lee Zii Jia's runner-up finish.
However, with a short recovery time, Chia-Soh were unfortunately not physically not up for their opening round tie against Indonesians Leo Rolly Carnando-Daniel Marthin.

While the contingent did not start the opening round on Tuesday on a good note after three representatives were sent packing, Wednesday proved to be a much better outing.
Ng made it so with a 21-9, 21-9 success over Dutchman Mark Caljouw where he was fully in control throughout the 35-minute encounter.
The world number 18 should fancy his chances to reach the last eight when he takes on Frenchman Arnaud Merkle in the second round.
Chen-Toh also came good with a 21-12, 21-12 victory over their Danish opponents to secure a tasty tie against Hong Kong pair Reginald Lee-Ng Tsz Yau.
Goh-Lai joined them after an impressive 21-9, , 21-8 victory against Chinese Taipei's Yang Po-hsuan-Hu Ling-fang, also going up against a Hong Kong pair in Tang Chun Man-Tse Ying Suet.
It was the end of the road for Arctic Open runners-up Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun, who suffered another early defeat as they lost 21-18, 18-21, 15-21 against Danish pair Rasmus Kjaer-Frederik Sogaard.
