Malaysian doubles pairs Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah and Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi checked into the French Open quarter-finals after overcoming their Indonesian opponents on Thursday.

Tan-Thinaah, who had to worked hard to beat Indonesian pair Apriyani Rahayu-Siti Fadia on Tuesday, weren't pushed as hard in the second-round match against Febriana Kusuma-Amalia Pratiwi, needing 45 minutes to overcome their opponents 21-16, 21-14.

It was dominant display from the Commonwealth Games gold medalists, who were aggresive throughout and savvy with their shot placements that left the Indonesians scrambling at times.

Tan-Thinaah are expected to face a much tougher test when they take on Japanese pair Nami Matsuyama-Chiharu Shida for a place in the semis.

Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi also came through their Indonesian test with flying colours after beating Leo Rolly Calvarho-Daniel Marthin in a battle hardened 21-18, 17-21, 22-20 victory that went on for 78-minutes.

If Ong-Teo do beat South Koreans Choi Sol-gyu-Kim Won-ho on Friday, they will, at the least, match their run at the Denmark Open last week.

Thursday marked some salvation for the Malaysian contingent after a mass exodus in the opening round on Wednesday, including defeats to Lee Zii Jia and Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik.
