“Unfortunately, we’ve decided to withdraw from the Korea Open due to my condition. See you all in three weeks,” confirmed Toh.

The national mixed doubles ace is expected to be sidelined for at least two to three weeks, as she prepares to undergo further assessment of her injury.

Chen-Toh won last year’s Korea Open title after a three-game victory over Chinese pair Guo Xinwa-Li Qian.

It proved to be their last victory on the World Tour, until they clinched the World Championships crown in August.

Toh’s injury explains the reason behind the pair’s straight game defeat at the China Masters final last Sunday.

The Malaysians were soundly beaten by Thai pair Dechapol Puavaranukroh-Supissara Paewsampran 8-21, 17-21 to the Super 750 title.

Chen-Toh are expected to make a return to the European leg of the World Tour next month, if Toh’s recovery goes smoothly.
