Quality sessions of high intensity training looked to have benefited Lee Zii Jia, who trained with the likes of Loh Kean Yew and Rasmus Gemke ahead of the Denmark Open, which begins on Tuesday.
Lee had arrived in Denmark last week and was scheduled to train with Viktor Axelsen and Anders Antonsen.
But with Axelsen’s participation still in doubt after a leg injury, Lee trained with Loh and Gemke and was pleased with his run-up to the Super 750 event.
“It’s good to have high intensity training before a tournament. Here is all about intensity and quality of training,” Lee, who trained under the watchful eye of Danish singles chief Kenneth Jonassen, told Danish broadcaster TV 2.
