Lee Chong Wei paid a special tribute to the Paris 100 Exhibition Match organizers for inviting him to a legends’ match-up featuring the sport’s finest shuttlers that included Lin Dan, Taufik Hidayat and Peter-Gade recently.

“We were once teenage boys chasing the same dream from different corners of the world. Thank you Paris 100 for bringing us together once again in the world’s most romantic city, playing the game we love most.

“It was great to see my old friends Lin Dan, Peter Gade & Taufik. My best memory of Paris was winning the French Open in 2015,” said Lee via his official social media account.

The former world number one later teamed up with Gade for a friendly match against Lin Dan and Taufik at Paris’ iconic Eiffel Tower.

The exhibition match was held in conjunction with the 100 day countdown to the Paris Olympics last week.

The 2024 Olympics will begin on July 26, and the 100-day countdown marked the beginning of the hype to the greatest show on earth.

Of the four legends, Lin Dan is the most successful shuttler with two Olympic gold medals in 2008 & 2012, where he beat Lee in both the finals’.

Taufik won the 2004 Olympics in Athens, while Lee is a triple Olympic silver medalist from the 2008, 2012 and 2016 editions.
