This high-profile meeting comes after TMJ announced the three-time Olympic silver medalist appointment as Johor’s badminton advisor and ambassador last week.

This is in line with TMJ’s vision of working with a line-up of established sporting stars to develop sports in the southern state.

Lee will join a stellar cast of former athletes including former New Zealand rugby star Sonny Bill Williams, ex-UFC champion Khabib Nurmagomedov and former Australian international Tim Cahill.

Lee’s involvement will certainly draw massive interest from the state in their bid to produce more badminton stars.

“His Royal Highness’s unwavering passion for sports and dedication to its development are truly inspiring. I share the same commitment and will give my utmost contribution to sports development in Johor and beyond,” said Lee upon his appointment.

Among the current badminton stars from Johor include Ng Tze Yong and Nur Izzuddin Rumsani.
