Pemain badminton nombor satu negara, Datuk Lee Chong Wei, sukar meluahkan perasaan susulan insiden kecederaan lutut kiri yang memanjangkan tarikh dia untuk kembali beraksi di gelanggang kompetitif.
Kecederaan yang dialaminya itu semasa berlatih di gelanggang baru di Akademi Badminton Malaysia, memaksa Chong Wei untuk melupakan kempen Kejohanan Seluruh England bulan depan.
"Saya sudah pun memberitahu jurulatih mengenai isu lantai gelanggang yang licin di Akademi Badminton Malaysia ini.
"Saya harap mereka dapat menggunakan jenis lantai yang sama di Bukit Kiara.
"Jurulatih perseorangan negara, Hendrawan, sudah dimaklumkan mengenai hal ini dan memanjangkan isu ini kepada Morten Forst (Pengarah Teknikal Persatuan Badminton Malaysia - BAM) dan Lawrence Chew (Pengurus Besar BAM).
"Tapi mereka tidak memberi maklum balas," kata pemenang Seluruh England sebanyak dua kali itu.
"Pada hari ketiga, ada beberapa pemain yang tergelincir tapi tidak ada yang cedera teruk.
"Cuma kecederaan saya yang paling teruk sehingga bahagian meniskus lutut saya terkoyak.
"Kemudian barulah menukar lantai ini pada malam Ahad yang lalu, tapi sudah lambat.
"Saya kecewa tindakan diambil hanya selepas saya mengalami kecederaan."
