Malaysia will have two representatives in the China Open semi-finals after national doubles pairs Pearly Tan-M.Thinaah and Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik convincingly won their matches.

National women’s pair Tan-Thinaah continued their strong performance with another dominant display to beat Japanese pair Yuki Fukuhisma-Mayu Matsumoto 21-16, 21-12 in 39-minutes.

The third seeds will now contest in their seventh semi-finals of the year.

The world number three pair will take on Chinese pair Jia Yi Fan-Zhang Shu Xian for a place in the final.

Chia-Soh also reached the last four in comfortable fashion after they overcame national team-mates Man Wei Chong-Tee Kai Wun 21-16, 21-16 in the men’s doubles quarter-finals.

The second seeds have done well to have won all their matches in straight games to reach the last four since they crashed out of Japan Open first round last week.

Chia-Soh will face Indian pair Satwiksairaj Rankireddy-Chirag Shetty on Saturday.

Rankireddy-Shetty had beaten Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi to reach the semis.
