World champions Chen Tang Jie-Toh Ee Wei reached the China Masters final after a stunning display saw them come from a game down to beat world number one pair Feng Yan Zhe-Huang Dong Ping on Saturday.

The Malaysians edged a nail-biting semi-finals contest to win 22-24, 21-19, 21-17 in a gripping battle that lasted 80-minutes at the Shenzhen Arena.

Chen-Toh dominated the opening game which they led for almost the entire match. But despite having match points, the Chinese came from behind to steal the lead.

But the national mixed doubles pair did not let that affect them, as they won a close second game and went on to book their final berth with an attacking, yet composed victory in the decider.

More encouragingly, this is the first win for Chen-Toh over the Chinese pair in five meetings, with the Malaysians last win against Feng-Huang coming at the Paris Olympics last year.

This is the pair’s second final of the year, which they will aim to stamp with another silverware when they face the winners of Jiang Zhen Bang-Wei Ya Xin-Dechapol Puavaranukroh-Supissara Paewsampran on Sunday.
