Matsuyama, meanwhile, said she loves nasi lemak, the iconic Malaysian dish loved by millions.
When asked about their favourite place to visit, Shida revealed she wanted to visit the Petronas Twin Towers while Matsuyama was happy to be at the Axiata Arena, the venue for the Super 500 event.
Shida-Matsuyama would have certainly had the opportunity to try their favourite food, but Shida may not have had the opportunity to visit the iconic twin towers due to their busy schedule.
The world number two pair were knocked out in the second round at the Malaysia Masters.
Shida had also recently spoken out about suffering from fans harassment during competition in China, which led her to feel scared and uncomfortable.
That certainly wasn’t the case with Malaysian fans, who cheered both her and Matsuyama during their matches.
