BWF Malaysia Masters set to feature world top 10 shuttlers

The upcoming Malaysia Masters (May 23-28) is set to boast a star-studded line-up, especially being the first event on the BWF World Tour calendar offering qualifying points to the 2024 Olympic Games.
“This is one of the starting events for the Olympic qualification period and we have confirmation of most of the top 10 international shuttlers, including the men’s singles. They will be coming right after the Sudirman Cup,” said Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) president Norza Zakaria.
The Malaysia Masters will be held at the Axiata Arena, and fans can expect to see the likes of Lee Zii Jia, Ng Tze Yong, Goh Jin Wei, Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik and other prominent local shuttlers in action.

Norza also wanted the Malaysian shuttlers to use the home turf to their advantage.
“The fans will be out in numbers to support and the players should take it positively. For our top 10 shuttlers, it should be trying to reciprocate the fans' love. It should be an inspiration to play on home turf,” he added.
Last year’s Malaysia Masters saw only Pearly Tan-M.Thinaah reaching the semi-finals before they were ousted in straight games by world champions Chen Qing Chen-Jia Yi Fan.
