Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi pulled off another huge win at the Badminton Asia Championships as they reached Sunday's final.

The Malaysians notched the impressive straight game victory, this time a 21-16, 26-24 success over fourth seeds Takuro Hoki-Yugo Kobayashi in a captivating 50-minute contest in Dubai.

Ong-Teo had beaten world number one pair Fajar Alfian-Rian Ardianto in straight games on Friday, and came into this showdown against opponents they had only beaten once in eight meetings.

But conquering the mighty Indonesians clearly gave them renewed confidence as Ong-Teo wasted no time in taking the game to Hoki-Kobayashi from the start.

They commanded proceedings all the way in the opening game to take the lead, and the second game unfolded one of the most entertaining contests in this tournament.

Ong-Teo vowed the crowd with their all-out performance, throwing their bodies all over the court to fight for every shuttle to continuously unsettle their opponents.

At one stage, Hoki-Kobayashi looked comfortable with a 18-14 lead, but the Malaysians rallied back to the extent Teo scraped his right knee after sensationally lunging to retrieve the shuttle.

The match went into deuce with both pairs pushing hard, but Ong-Teo held their nerve to reach their first final since last November's Australia Open.

They meet the winners of Lee Yang-Wang Chi-lin-Chirag Shetty-Satwiksairaj Rankireddy in Sunday’s final.

Meanwhile, mixed doubles pair Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai failed to join them after they were thoroughly outclassed 11-21, 13-21 by top seeds Zheng Si Wei-Huang Ya Qiong.

The pair’s 26-minutes loss meant they lost in all 11 encounters against the formidable Chinese.
