Bagi aksi beregu wanita, gandingan Malaysia, Cheng Su Hui-Cheng Su Yin, mudah menewaskan pasangan dari Filipina, Jesita Putri Miantoro-Silvia Ratih, dalam aksi suku akhir.
Dalam set pertama, gandingan Malaysia itu yang juga pilihan kedua sukar mencari rentak permainan tetapi berjaya meraih kemenangan 21-19.
Selepas berjaya menyesuaikan diri dengan gelanggang, Su Hui-Su Yin tenang mempamerkan permainan cemerlang sebelum merakamkan kemenangan 21-12.
Terdahulu, beberapa pemain negara seperti perseorangan lelaki, Justin Hoh, dan beregu lelaki, Demon Anthony Samin-Wan Arif Shaharuddin Wan Mohd Junaidi, juga berjaya mengesahkan slot ke separuh akhir.
