Lee Zii Jia faces Leong Jun Hao in an all-Malaysian men's singles quarter-final match at the Arctic Open, while Ng Tze Yong continued to flex his muscles against Chou Tien-chen.

In the second round in Vantaa, Finland, the world number 19 needed less than 50 minutes to defeat Chen with a 21-15, 21-16 victory, which was his third win this year against the Chinese Taipei ace.

Ng was again sublime against the world number 11, using his deceptive cross court returns to great effect and making his opponent go the extra mile with his last minute retrievals.

Ng's reward is a last eight spot against fourth seed Lu Guang Zu.

Lee looked back to his attacking best in the deciding game against Chico Aura Dwi Wardoyo, which he sealed in comfortable fashion for a 21-17, 18-21, 21-11 victory.

The world number 16 was still guilty of committing unforced errors, but he looked more calculated in his decision making when it mattered.

Leong ensured there would be at least one local representative in the semi-finals when he overcame Frenchman Arnaud Merkle in three tightly contested games 15-21, 21-17, 21-19.

Mixed doubles pair Tan Kian Meng-Lai Pei Jing crashed out after a straight game defeat, while Pearly Tan-M. Thinaah were forced to withdraw after Tan suffered a muscle strain.
