Goh Sze Fei-Nur Izzuddin marched into Arctic Open final after the Malaysians stunned China's world number one men's doubles pair Wang Chang-Liang Weng Keng 19-21, 21-17, 21-18 in Finland.
Goh-Izzuddin's meteoric rise in the last few months have been nothing short of remarkable, and they now stand on the cusp of bagging a third title on the World Tour in the span of two months.
The now professional men's doubles pair added another cap to their feather after beating the world's top combination for the first time to book another deserved final after the come-from-behind victory.
The opening game was as close as it got and Goh-Izzuddin did well to push Wang-Liang to 19-20 before an error gave the game to the Chinese.
But that setback only spurred the world number eight pair, who came back firing in the next two games.
Goh-Izzuddin went on the offense at any given opportunity and it put their Chinese opponents under massive pressure which resulted in unforced errors.
Izzuding was impressive with his lethal smashes which he angled perfectly from the back court, while Goh stayed sharp at the front.
The Malaysians rotational play and agile strategy was also too hot to handle for Wang-Liang, who found themselves flat-footed on the same court as Goh-Izzuddin exploited the spaces afforded to them.
After winning the Japan and China Open in recent times, Goh-Izzuddin can now add the Arctic Open title to their name on Sunday.
They will face either Danes Kim Astrup-Anders Skaarup Rasmussen or Thai pair Dechapol Puavaranukroh-Kittinupong Kedren in the final.
In the earlier session, Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai lost in straight games 14-21, 8-21 against Chinese mixed doubles pair Jiang Zhen Bang-Wei Ya Xin.
