Ampang Jaya Badminton Club (AJBC) and Petaling Badminton Club (PBC) will go against each other in pursuit of the 2022 Malaysia Purple League title after winning their matches comprehensively on Saturday.

In the semi-finals, PBC recorded a comfortable 10-3 victory over Sena Bangkok Club (SBC).

French import Brice Leverdez gave PBC the lead with a 11-4, 11-7, 11-8 victory over Kittipong Imnark.

Busanan Ongbumrungphan levelled matters for SBC after a hard fought 6-11, 9-11, 11-8, 11-5 win over Chinese Taipei’s Pai Yu-po.

Goh V Shem-Low Juan Shen reinstated PBC’s lead with a 11-8, 11-6, 11-4 victory over Kittisak Namdash-Tan Wee Kiong, before Chen Tang Jie-Lai Pei Jing sealed the outright win by taking down Yap Qar Siong-Atitaya Povanon 11-4, 11-6, 11-4.

AJBC, meanwhile, booked their final berth after they ousted Puchong United Badminton Club (PUBC) 9-5.

Hong Kong’s Lee Chiek Yiu gave PUBC the lead with a 11-7, 11-2, 11-7 win over Chou Tien-chen, but Goh Jin Wei made it 1-1 after she outfoxed Soniia Cheah 11-6, 5-11, 3-11, 11-7, 11-9.

Moh Reza-Sabar Karyaman then put AJBC 2-1 up when they overcame Ong Yew Sin-Teo Ee Yi 11-9, 11-4, 11-7.

Goh Soon Huat-Shevon Lai confirmed AJBC’s path to the final when the world number 13 pair beat Tan Kian Meng-Goh Liu Ying 11-10, 11-6, 11-6.

The final takes place at the Arena Of Stars in Genting on Sunday.
