Pasukan tumpuan Kejohanan Badminton Remaja Astro (AJC) Bawah 15 Tahun (B-15) 2018, BAM-Astro Kasih, gagal melangkah ke separuh akhir apabila tewas 1-3 kepada kelab dari China, Anhui Soyu, di Stadium Juara, Bukit Kiara, hari ini.
Mata tunggal buat pasukan yang dibarisi skuad remaja kebangsaan itu hadir menerusi acara perseorangan lelaki selepas beregu campuran terlebih dahulu tumpas dalam aksi pertama.
Namun, perseorangan wanita yang diwakili Lee Xin Jie gagal meneruskan momentum apabila tunduk kepada Ruan Xinyue yang meletakkan kelab dari China itu selangkah sahaja lagi untuk layak ke separuh akhir.
Beregu lelaki yang diharapkan mampu menjadi penyelamat kepada Malaysia turut gagal untuk menghadiahkan mata apabila tewas dalam set penentuan, sekali gus memberikan mata kemenangan buat Anhui Soyu untuk meneruskan kemaraan.
"Perseorangan dan beregu lelaki selain beregu campuran menjadi taruhan utama kami.
"Semua pemain telah memberikan yang terbaik, cuma kekurangan kami mungkin daripada segi mental," ujar Pengurus BAM-Astro Kasih, Hafiz Hashim.
Keputusan itu menyaksikan tiada satu pun wakil dari Malaysia yang berjaya ke separuh akhir yang menyaksikan CRC Taipex Penang dan Wolf juga tunduk kepada wakil dari Indonesia, D'Jarum dan Exist.
