Aaron-Wooi Yik clinch BAC men's doubles crown after sensational triumph
Aaron Chia-Soh Wooi Yik capped off a magnificent performance by winning the Badminton Asia Championships men’s doubles final after a dominant straight game victory over their opponents.
Chia-Soh needed only 47-minutes to outclass Chinese pair Chen Bo Yang-Liu Yi 21-19, 21-17 in front of their home fans in Ningbo, China.
Victory also ended Chia-Soh’s long-wait for a title in this prestigious Asian competition, having finished as runners-up in 2022 and having to settle for a bronze medal in last year’s edition.

The Malaysians led the entire game and kept their composure to take the lead despite Chen-Liu keeping the scores close till the end.
Chia-Soh were relying on their offence for the points, with the Chinese opting to defend and look for the gaps to exploit.
That same tactic continued in the second game, and the turning point came when Chia-Soh overcame an 8-12 deficit to take a 13-12 lead.
That unsettled Chen-Liu, who began to make mistakes which Chia-Soh swiftly punished.
Victory was soon sealed, with both shuttlers celebrating a historic moment in their career.
The 2022 world champions have won this tournament without dropping a game, including victories over former champions Liang Wei Keng-Wang Chang in the semi-finals.
