Leong Jun Hao scored a much needed victory at the Indonesia Open, as he won his first match after 286-minutes to advance to the second round on Tuesday.

Leong scored an impressive 21-17, 21-17 over Japan's Kodai Naraoka to snap a seven-match losing that dated back to the All-England in March.

The Malaysian deserved the win in the manner of how he was offensively much better than Naraoka and kept the mistakes to a minimum.

The last time Leong won a match was against Naraoka's national team-mate Kenta Nishimoto at the All-England first round.

Next up for Leong is it showdown against European world top 10 opponents which are either Anders Antonsen or Alex Lanier.

The world number 27 will be aiming to give his best to cause another upset in this Super 1000 event.

Leong has faced criticisms recently from Lee Chong Wei ovet discipline issues and admitted that incident affected his game at the Malaysia Masters.
