Many more changes are in line for the Hawks this season than dealing with star Paul Millsap's impeding free agency.

The organization has verbally agreed with Warriors assistant general manager Travis Schlenk to become the new team GM, ESPN.com reported Wednesday, citing sources.

The deal is expected to be announced Thursday.

The move comes after Wes Wilcox was reassigned from general manager to special adviser to ownership and coach Mike Budenholzer was forced to relinquish the president of basketball operations title.

Previously, Atlanta expressed interest in former NBA player and current ESPN analyst Chauncey Billups and Wizards senior vice president of basketball operations Tommy Sheppard to take over as general manager for next season.

Schlenk is currently in his fifth season with the Warriors as the team heads to the NBA finals for the third year in a row.
