Tiffany Teo Earns World Title Shot After Comeback Victory
In a match that had World Title implications, it was Tiffany “No Chill” Teo who scored an amazing third-round TKO stoppage to become the number one contender in ONE Championship’s women’s strawweight division.
The Singaporean athlete defeated dangerous Japanese grappler Ayaka Miura in a strawweight mixed martial arts tilt at ONE: KING OF THE JUNGLE from the Singapore Indoor Stadium on Friday, 28 February.
“No Chill” found herself in trouble in the opening minute of the bout as Miura quickly established side control and sunk in a deep arm-triangle choke.

However, the BJJ blue belt showed great composure to escape and get back to her feet.
Teo proceeded to do her best work standing up – she walked down her Japanese opponent and peppered her with stinging combinations.
The Team Highlight Reel representative looked confident heading into the second round, and it showed.
First, Teo caught Miura with a monstrous left hook-straight right combination as the lady from Japan rushed in. Then, using outside leg kicks, she neutralized any attempts by Miura to get close enough for a takedown.
The final round saw a depleted Miura flailing wildly against Teo, who easily circled her rival and called her on. Just for good measure, “No Chill” worked her slick boxing skills, tagging the Tribe Tokyo MMA representative multiple times.
In the final moments of the clash, Teo denied a last-minute takedown attempt from Miura and proceeded to hammer blows to her grounded opponent.
Miura could not muster an answer against the torrent of strikes, leaving referee Olivier Coste no choice but to step in and call off the contest.
The win put Teo back in the number one contender spot for “The Panda” Xiong Jing Nan’s ONE Women’s Strawweight World Title.
This will be a chance for Teo to even the score against the woman who handed her the only loss of her professional mixed martial arts career.
After a long road back to the Circle, will the Singaporean athlete finally have her crowning moment of glory against Xiong?
No official details have been announced yet, but this is one match-up Singaporeans will certainly look forward to.
In the meantime, The Home Of Martial Arts returns to action on 20 March for ONE: HEART OF HEROES at the Phu Tho Indoor Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
