Stephen Curry is serious about his Panthers.

The Warriors star and Charlotte, N.C., native reiterated his feelings about potentially getting involved with the team's ownership after Jerry Richardson announced he was putting the franchise up for sale, saying he is doing whatever is necessary to be more included.

“Obviously I have a day job, but I’ve got people that are plugged in and are trying to see how to make that happen,” Curry told reporters Monday, via the Charlotte Observer. “Nothing really to say about it besides that I’m very interested and very willing to do what it takes to make that happen.”

Rapper P. Diddy was the first to express interest in buying the franchise, and Curry tweeted "I want in!" after former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick also chimed in. Curry's involvement wouldn't be out of the question after the former Davidson College standout signed a $201 million deal with the Warriors in June.

“Obviously I’m a fan first and I’ve been a fan since I was, what, 7 when they showed up in Charlotte? So to be able to be a part of something that represents Charlotte so well, in my hometown, I know a lot of the guys that play obviously for the team and what they represent," Curry added.

“All those things just combined – mainly just being the team that represents Charlotte on the national scale – that’s something I can plug into my hometown vibe, that’s a huge part of it.”

Richardson announced in December he would sell the team at the end of the season. It had been reported that at least four former Panthers employees received "significant" monetary settlements as a result of alleged inappropriate workplace conduct by Richardson, including "sexually suggestive language and behavior, and on at least one occasion directing a racial slur at an African-American Panthers scout."

The Panthers were awarded the NFL's 29th franchise in 1993, and Richardson's team was valued at $2.3 billion in September, according to Forbes.
