Shaun White interested in competing in 2020 Summer Games
Shaun White became the first snowboarder in Olympic history to win three gold medals at the Winter Games Tuesday in South Korea, and it appears he isn't done competing.
Asked about his future plans after raising his gold medal, White announced he's interested in both the 2020 Summer Games as a skateboarder and the 2022 Winter Games.undefined
White, 31, hasn't competed as a skateboarder at the X Games since he won the Vert event in 2011.
After his winning run, White was asked about the sexual misconduct allegations that have followed him since 2016. He referred to the allegations as "gossip," which didn't go over well.
“I’m here to talk about the Olympics, not gossip and stuff,” White said when asked if he thought the allegations tarnished his legacy. “I don’t think so. I am who I am and I’m proud of who I am.”
“I’m truly sorry that I chose the word gossip. It was a poor choice of words to describe such a sensitive subject in the world today.” @shaunwhite on his remarks at news conference when asked about harassment case pic.twitter.com/5q9jyCL61m
