SEA Games: Six diving gold medals out of six for Malaysia
Malaysia continued their dominance in diving events at the 2021 SEA Games in Hanoi, Vietnam, as they clinched two more gold medals on Tuesday.
Ng Yan Yee (270.60 points) and Ong Ker Ying (242.40), who partnered up yesterday to win gold in the women's synchronised three-metre springboard event, clinched a one-two finish in the individual event this time.
Singapore's Fong Kay Yian (230.15 points) beat Filipino diver Ariana Hannah Talingting Drake (229.80 points) for bronze.
Later on the same day, Jellson Jabillin and Hanis Nazirul Jaya Surya then make it six out of six for the country by scoring 345.93 points in the men's synchronised 10-metre platform final, finishing ahead of Singapore (322.50 points) and Vietnam (251.46 points).
Malaysia can complete a clean sweep of gold medals on Wednesday with two more diving events.
Pandelela Rinong and Nur Dhabitah Sabri would compete in the women's synchronised 10-metre platform final, while Syafiq Puteh would be in men's individual three-metre springboard action.
If successful, it would be the third time in the last four editions the Malaysian diving contingent win all gold medals.
