Ireland produced a statement Six Nations victory away to Scotland at Murrayfield, moving to the top of the table with a 32-18 bonus-point win on Sunday.

Ireland started strongly in the opening exchanges and raced into a 17-0 lead in the first half before Scotland rallied to reduce the deficit to just six points.

The hosts' task was made even more difficult when Finn Russell and Darcy Graham collided early in the second quarter and both were removed from the field of play.

A Duhan van der Merwe try and conversion from Blair Kinghorn handed Gregor Townsend's side a way back into the contest, only for Ireland to assume control soon after.

Lowe and Conan scored two tries within seven minutes to put the result beyond doubt, with Sam Prendergast following up his two conversions in the first half with another.

Scotland added a late consolation through Ben White but were unable to build on their impressive 31-19 victory over Italy in their Six Nations opener.

Data Debrief: Ireland continue Scotland dominance

Ireland kept their Six Nations Grand Slam hopes firmly on track with a dominant display on home soil, further asserting their dominance over Scotland in this fixture.

Indeed, they have now won each of their last 11 Test matches against Scotland, their longest-ever winning run in this fixture, with seven of those victories coming by 14 or more points.

Ireland have won their opening two games of this year's Six Nations and are now the only unbeaten team in the Championship. Overall, they have won 18 of their last 20 matches in the competition (L2).

Among a string of excellent showings, Lowe was the standout for Ireland. He scored his 11th try in the Six Nations, each of those tries coming since the beginning of 2022 – more than any other player in that time; he has an additional seven try assists, with his 18 try involvements also being the most of any player since 2022.
