Ridzuan stars again at 2018 Asian Para Games

Malaysia are just six gold medals away from achieving their 15-gold target at the 2018 Asian Para Games after picking up two more gold medals in Indonesia on Wednesday.

On top of that, the national contingent also won seven silver and five bronze to secure eighth place in the medal standings with nine gold, 15 silver and 17 bronze.

Malaysia’s first gold of the day came in table tennis when TT8-9 category pair Chee Chao Ming and Ting Ing Hock defeated Indonesian pair Prahasta Mohamad Rian and Kusnanto Kusnanto 11-7, 8-11, 11-6 in the final.

Ridzuan Puzi, who set a new world record in the 100m T36 en route to a gold medal yesterday, contributed another gold for Malaysia in the 400m T36 after clocking 59.36s.

The Perlis-born athlete, who has been afflicted by cerebral palsy since the age of one, said he was grateful to be able to win and roared "Malaysia Boleh!" after the race.

The national athletes will be fighting for gold in cycling, tenpin bowling and athletics on Thursday, with Ridzuan returning to action in the T36 category and T12 long jumper Wong Kar Gee expected to contribute a gold medal.
