Raducanu looking to improve 'everything' after Indian Wells exit

Emma Raducanu said that she needed to work on "everything" in her game following her first-round exit at Indian Wells on Thursday.
Raducanu was beaten 6-3 6-2 by Moyuka Uchijima as she struggled in testing conditions in California, losing her sixth match of the year in the process.
The Briton has now only won 11 of her 26 matches at WTA 1000 events following this latest reverse, giving her a win rate of 42.3%.

Indeed, WTA 1000 events were introduced in 2009, Raducanu has the lowest win rate among grand slam champions, and is now below Francesca Schiavone (42.4%, 42-57).
The 2021 US Open champion made a host of errors to allow Uchijima the opportunity to come out on top too often in the scrappy rallies during the game.
42.3 - Since the format’s introduction in 2009, Emma Raducanu (42.3%, 11-15) now holds the lowest win rate among former Grand Slam winners at WTA-1000 events, now below Francesca Schiavone (42.4%, 42-57). Raducanu faced break points in her opening six service games, a result of the pressure created by a lack of accuracy as she looked to be aggressive.
Five of those games ended in Raducanu losing serve as she trailed by a set and a break to the 52nd-ranked Uchijima, and was able to claw back the contest.
Raducanu was watched from the stands by Slovakian coach Vladimir Platenik, who has linked up with the British number two on a trial basis.
Platenik was coaching New Zealand qualifier Lulu Sun when she beat Raducanu at Wimbledon last year, while he has also worked with top-10 players Dominika Cibulkova, Daria Kasatkina and Veronika Kudermetova.
When asked which areas of her game she wanted to work on with Platenik, Raducanu smiled and said "everything".
"I'll need to improve the starting point. That's a big part of tennis. I can do that a lot better," she added.
"I could improve by being more aggressive and having a better quality of shot going forward onto the court.
"I could improve every area of my game after today's performance."
