Rabbitohs coach Bennett unsure of Inglis return

South Sydney Rabbitohs coach Wayne Bennett concedes he does not know if Greg Inglis will ever return from his ongoing shoulder problem.
The NRL great had planned to retire at the end of 2020 but has now missed consecutive matches due to severe arthritis in his left shoulder joint.
Inglis is reportedly set to announce a decision on his future next week, but Bennett says "the signs aren't good" as surgery cannot fix the issue.

Bennett added that he will leave the call up to Inglis.
"[The shoulder] flares up and it goes from bad to good to worse," Bennett said. "It's unpredictable, all over the shop with it.
"At the moment, he can't raise it above his head or a little away from his body as he tries to raise it. The signs aren't good.
"Surgery won't fix it. That's the issue - a bit like Jack Reed at the [Brisbane] Broncos when I was there. He had similar type problems.

"I don't know [if Inglis will keep playing]. I don't know why he should or shouldn't. It's something for him to decide.
"That's why he's away for now, to get himself out of the bubble that we all live in and get a bit of reality in life."
