"We are excited with the tremendous support from the Malaysian government and fans as well as from the Philippines," he told reporters before a warm-up and training session at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur on Wednesday.
The 39-year-old also said he had not faced any problems or distractions in his training routine in Malaysia ahead of the highly anticipated battle.
He said there were not much differences in environmental conditions, local time and weather from his own country.
"There is no difference between the Philippines and Malaysia; the weather is the same and there is just a minor time difference.
"My training routine has remained unchanged as I go jogging in the morning and train in the afternoon," he added.
