Oregon's rebuilding process starts with coveted transfer Elijah Brown

It's been a bit of a rough offseason for the Oregon basketball program.

After a surprise Final Four run, which ended with a loss against eventual champion North Carolina, Oregon's roster has since been ravaged by a number of early NBA Draft entries (Tyler Dorsey, Dillon Brooks and Jordan Bell) and a transfer (Casey Benson).

But good news is on the way in the form of coveted graduate transfer Elijah Brown. The former New Mexico star, who began his college career at Butler, announced Monday he has committed to Oregon.

Brown, the son of Warriors assistant coach Mike Brown, who is filling in for Steve Kerr during the NBA playoffs, averaged 18.8 points, 5.2 rebounds and 3.1 assists last season.

As a 6-4 shooting guard, Brown has the ability to shoot from beyond the arc and drive to the basket.

He chose Oregon over Gonzaga, Iowa State, Northwestern, and Saint Mary's.
